A new generation of heating is being ushered into New Zealand with the introduction of the Miller Pro-Heat 35 induction heating system from Weldwell New Zealand – and it’s a game changer.
The system not only heats up parts several hundred times faster than traditional heating methods, it’s also significantly safer, with no open flames. Instead, the system uses the metal parts being heated as the inbuilt heating element – reaching heats up to 789°C.
According to Weldwell product and sales manager Fuhai Liu, they are the only ones offering this technology in welding and with the capacity to be faster, simpler and safer, while using less labour, it offers a competitive edge Kiwi companies can’t afford to dismiss.
“It’s exclusive to us – it can reduce heating time up to 75 per cent and cuts hours down to minutes. Instead of something taking two or three hours it can literally be done in 30 – 45 minutes.”
Safer, faster, and fewer staff hours.
The benefits for companies are obvious. More work done in a day is more profit over the year. And with skilled staff hard to find the technology saves on labour while also acting as a drawcard for the bold firm looking to attract the best people.
Firms who invest in the equipment can offer their customers faster turnarounds – everyone wins!
It’s an agility that is increasingly in demand in New Zealand’s highly competitive engineering sector.
Heavy industries like mining, power generation and oil and gas have been using this technology in Australia for different heating applications like shrink fitting, pre-heating baking out and post-weld head treatment, Liu says, but there’s no limit to the industries where induction heating can apply.
The future of welding.
With their team based in Auckland, New Plymouth and Christchurch, forward-thinking companies looking to trade in their torches can be reassured of strong local support for taking the leap into the future of welding.
